Ask a thousand people “What is art?” and it is likely you will hear a thousand different responses. And as I explore this question I conclude that almost anything can be art and that beauty, as the adage says, truly is in the eye of the beholder. The fabric of The Murray Library at Sunderland University, combined with natural and artificial light has created areas of what I consider to be simple aesthetic beauty. This series of images, recorded digitally, represents the idea that beauty is all around us and with a little imagination can become a work of art.
